The last two rigs i’ve built have required me to long press the power button to get the PC to boot up for the first time. After that, they boot up normally. The rigs haven’t shared any parts aside from a SSD. Is this normal?

How is Windows being installed?

Is the mentioned SSD hosting the OS?

With the SSD being moved between rigs?

The ssd is hosting the OS! I believe it’s a Samsung 970 EVO from a few years ago. I move it between builds. I also used the same RAM, which was some 3200mhz GSKILL Ripjaws V

Both used MSI motherboards! One was a PRO Z690 and the other was a MAG Z690

I can't really say it's "normal", but I can't really say it's "abnormal" either. I've used a ton of MSI motherboards in the past, and have a great deal of respect for them. You say they're running fine now...so perhaps this is what MSI calls a "feature". ;)
