Even 3-year old children can solve this game in less than a day and
it's far too expensive for just a few hours of gameplay.

We need really TOUGH games which are almost unplayable, like the 80s
arcade games, that's what we need.

Not pussy-games for NOOBS like Half-Life 2 ...

Dude, if you thought that was too easy, you *have* to try the Substance
Mod. You'd probably have a blast...

Unlike losers that spend their entire life behind the computer screen, some
of us have lives, jobs, families. We don't *WANT* our games to be unbeatable
or 400 hours long. We want to be able to sit down and beat it over the
course of a week when we get an hour or two a day to play.

Not my fault you actually can sit infront of the computer for 15-20 hours
uninterrupted.. I feel sorry for you if you have that kind of time on your
hands. Get a GIRL, dude.

Troll aside, HL2 *is* too easy on 'normal' for seasoned FPS players
IMO.

What about on hard?
I did it on normal and found it was a lot easier than HL1 but I wouldn't say
it was TOO easy.

Come and play HL2 Deathmatch, you will certainly get your moneys worth, and
I think you will find that a much greater challenge. I bet you will meet a
lot of people who are tough. Tougher than a 3 year old child with a flick
knife.

One way to make it a little more difficult is to do the following:

* Load up a new game of HL2 on the highest diffculty setting.
* Whilst said game is loading take a trip to a particularly down-market
Off-License (Liquor store to our American viewers).
* Purchase 15-20 cans of cold Kestral Super-Strength, White Lightning or
anything loaded with alcohol (and quite possibly cat piss).
* Return home and drink away all the cans.
* Attempt to pick yourself from the floor.
* Okay, try to do the last thing again and avoid spewing over any PC
component.
* Play the game and try to come into this ng and say it is easy.

I completed it on Normal without ever getting really really
frustrated, I didn't even use manual saves or quick saves for 99% of
the time.

I'm replaying it on hard now and I am 3/4 of the way through the game
and again haven't really got stuck on this difficulty level.

Ninja Gaiden on the XBox is difficult on the normal level as is Halo 2
on heroic, let alone the hardest level on each game.
Likewise Call of Duty on Normal and Doom 3 on Normal level on the PC

IT is too easy. Still great, but after Far Cry, Doom3 and HL2 were
childlike, difficulty-wise. Far cry may have been too hard, or possibly
just right. I did finish, so I guess just right. Oh I got it, far cry
would have just right if it had a normal save-feature.

Good point. Have fun but get out and enjoy yourself also. I could spend
all my time when I was younger, had a part time computer business inaddition
to my regular govt job. Situtation has changed with wife, 2 kids, mortgage
and the like.

Your post is a troll....but

So far normal is fun....not too much work and alot of entertainment. A few
hard spots though. I had to play a great part with a low end video card
because my ATI 9800 pro failed shortly into the game. Will be trying it on
hard next time around.

Trolls relieve the bordom. It is like throwing bits of arm to a pack of

It's certainly getting a bit tedious now.... I just found the latest
'difool' troll thread, another entire thread added to my ignore list...
unfortunately the other groups he crossposts to haven't started
killfiling him yet

Found him amusing for a while but he's KF'd now. Others in those groups
wont start KF'ing him yet as they enjoy winding him up.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but games have different
difficulty settings. I don't see why a game can't have a "nightmare"
setting that will satisfy the super hardcore gamers and a "very easy"
setting for casual gamers. I would have appreciated a setting more
difficult in HL2 beyond hard, maybe with just a few less health packs
and less ammo.
The lack thereof didn't diminish my enjoyment of the game though.
