Half of RAM is hardware reserved

I recently built a new rig and upon checking out the specs in the system I noticed that half of the RAM was hardware reserved. I've since scoured the internet and done all the common "fixes" unchecking the limit box in msconfig, running memtest to see if there were any errors, and even going so far as to changing the value of some registry in registryedit. But all of that has been to no avail, because half of my RAM remains reserved.

So now I turn to you wonderful people at TH to see if you could help me with this issue.

Specs are:
MoBo: MSI H110 PRO-VS PLUS
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw V F4-2400C15D-16GVS (2x8gb)
CPU: i5 6500

If there is any other info that you need I would be more than happy to provide it. Thank you in advance.

Solution
Windows reserves ram for making stuff faster. It preloads stuff so that if you open a program it loads faster than if it wasn't in RAM. And if you are using a dedicated graphics card, try turning off integrated graphics in the BIOS so it doesnt try and still reserve that ram while you aren't using it.
Are you running a 32-bit system? That would limit you to 4 GiB.
Do you use the integraded graphics? If yes, check what the memory allocation is set to in the BIOS/UEFI. Try reducing it, dies it change something about the amount of memory marked as "hardware reserved"?

It doesn't seem like it's faster and I still get prompts to turn off programs or something due to lack of memory. When I track it, my computer uses 60-70% when playing games.

And I will check the integrated graphics option in the bios and see if it changes anything.

Did anyone figure out anything? I'm having the same issue... installed a new MSI 970 gaming motherboard. Windows 7 64 bit home edition says I have about half my 8 gigs in reserve. Tried the msconfig, tried the mem test. Manually played with the sticks. I don't think gaming motherboards come with on board vid cards so I don't imagine it is that. Its gkill ripjaws, was working fine right before! Has anyone truly figured this out? Or do I have to re install windows and go from there?

I figured it out!
My first hint to everyone out there who might be reading this, WINDOWS 7 MEM TEST IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!
My mem tests kept coming back fine. I did all but flashed and re mapped by bios. I decided to do a more mundane thing...
I switched my two ram sticks around! Worked just fine. I know have like 20 some off meg reserved instead of 4 gig reserved. If your mem test is good, still try this! Strange, you would never expect it to work!
