i've played a lot of 3D games these passed few years and though it's an awesome experience with a lot of those it wasn't as "deep" feeling as i had hoped.

what Alex is describing is exactly the type of thing i had been hoping to find. all the other hype about VR has sounded cool but not much more than existing 3D experiences. this just seems like something totally different and what gamers(and the media in general) have been waiting for.
 
What we really need is for objects such as chairs etc to be made with sensors on them and modeled in game so that we can feel what we see to a certain extent. For example, we get a standardized chair that we can buy, that goes into the game's, so that we can see it, feel it and actually sit in it - in game.
