Hard Disk Folder is displayed as File

Hi everyone

I have been using segate external hard disk for nearly 2 years. I have connected it to my TV many times but recently I have noticed that some of the folders in the hard disk are now displayed as files and i am unable to access them. When i connect it to my pc, the details(free space and total space) of the hard disk are also not displayed unlike the internal hard disk for which the details are displayed. I have attahed the screenshots in this thread. Please help me in recovering the folders. Thanks in advance.

It is possible that the hard drive is failing, seagate drives are known for that. Recuva can recovery any files that may be photos, There is a program called testdisk that could recover the other files. Both programs can be downloaded and ran inside of windows i believe, its been a long time since i have had to use them.

Hello hemanthc27, what most likely happened here is that the file system got damaged as not all TV's are compatible with external drives. As for trying to get your information back, you can try our DIY software and you can find the link here.
