Hello . I switched my PSU which had been performing well and Now I get this weird Hang in my PC. When it hangs , I have to restart it and then in the Bios Menu, I cannot find Boot option for my Hard Disk . , It is only showing my empty DVD Writer. What Should I do ?

BTW the PSU I switched to has now been replaced by my original PSU . But the problem occurs . PLEASE HELP ME OUT . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi ! there might be a number of problems.......try matching them .....under

1)Your hard disk cables might be loose or not inserted
2)Your SATA cable might have not been inserted in the motherboard.
3)Your Cooling system might be poor which is hanging up your system.
4)Your power supply might hava some problem....try taking out all cables and fixing them again
5)Watch out for your ATX power connector.

Sounds like a HDD failure. I've had a few hard drives fail on me and that sounds like you are in the more serious stages. You should (if possible) plug your HDD into another PC and backup as much as you can. If that is not possible, use your PC sparingly and copy anything that you want to keep onto another drive (be it USB or external HDD). A key thing to keep in mind, the longer your PC is on, the less data will be recoverable so if you can't plug your HDD into another PC, consider waiting until you get another one before backing up your information.

I've had these symptoms 3 times and all were HDD failures. Backup all of your important stuff and run diagnostics if you want but backup immediately.

Yes, but you probably broke the power socket, that's why its dying so young!

My Computer mechanic told me that the PSU could not take the load of some parts. So the problem was occurring . He also checked the power socket you mentioned and he said it was alright .

What is your opinion about that ? . Could this really have been caused by my PSU ???

What I meant to say was that the mechanic thinks that there is nothing wrong with the hard disk . He thinks that the problem is only with the PSU .
SO I want to know your opinion .
I cannot deny that he is a very good and experienced mechanic . If you know Saurav Ganguly, the legendary Indian Cricketer . He was the computer mechanic of this guy .

This is Saurav Ganguly .

But I also have to admit the experience of you all . That is why I want your opinion . You know Many men many minds . So basing on both judgement I will decide .
So please help me out !!!.
