Hard disk - Seagate instead of Toshiba

Hi,

Internal Hard disk of my Toshiba laptop is not working properly. I was wondering if it would be okay to install Seagate hard disk - 750 GB of 7200 rpm instead of Toshiba hard disk - 500 GB of 5400 rpm. Could you please throw some light on the issues of heat generation or whether it would be compatible.

Any brand with the correct form factor and connection works and is compatible. With newer tech things tend to become more efficient and heat generation will be very similar, HDD do not use much power to begin with.

Toshiba hard drive has a good reputation @ failing fast....
Get a seagate or Western digital black instead
