Hard drive almost full for no reason

My hard drive is 288 gigabytes and 28.5 gigabytes are left. I juts got into gaming and im using this HD till I get some money to upgrade but its inexplicably full. I know games take alot of memory but I have 12 games installed which take about 100 gigabytes. The other 160 I have no clue, is it windows 7 64? Thanks for the help.

Hi Luckyb17. Well it could be a lot of things. Note that your OS along with the program files (depending on what you have installed) could take up more than 70GB or even more. I'd suggest that you check the "Downloads" folder, which is located in the User Folder (C:\Users\yourusername\Downloads). It is a default path for your downloads and many programs use it as well. You might have forgotten to delete something from there. You could also try cleaning up temporary files.
