I noticed this thing 2 years ago and i decided to talk about it now cuz i'm trying to make my computer as silent as possible. As far as i read, it's not clicking or things like that, it's just doing a sound like : "grrrrr grr grrr grrrrrrrr" like it's pissed off about something. And it also vibrates a bit, just a bit. It's doing this thing only when doing some heavy load on it or when copying or loading something.

Is it something normal, or his life is on the edge ?

First, is it actually the drive making this noise? How did you determine this?

Take the side cover off, and hold an empty paper towel tube up to your ear.
Point it at different items and places inside. That might help localize it.
Or a finger, to feel the vibration.

Believe me, the hard disk is making it. I mean it's something that you should check before posting a thread about it.

hehe...you'd be surprised.

So..if it's the drive, then either it isn't mounted solidly, or it might be going bad.

Well, yea, maybe it's not well placed, so the vibrations might come from that, but what about the "grrrr" sound ?

Touch it with your finger. Does it feel different as it makes that sound?
(But if it is going bad...the more you mess with it, the more likely it is to die)

If it is physically going bad, the only fix is replace.
I would start considering that now, and start backing up whatever is on it.

Forget about this thread, i mean about the annoying sound. So here is how i did :

Took a sponge and 2 pieces of cardboard sheets and some adhesive tape and some screws. I placed the sponge between the 2 pieces of cardboard and attached the Hard Disk with the screws to one of the cardboard sheets. Then i attached the cardboard sheet to the computer case with some copper wire, trying to make the hard disk not to touch anything else from inside the case and now NOTHING is hearing from it.

So the main problem, even if i 100% tought that the hard disk is perfectly placed, it wasn't.

But i'm afraid that the vibrate is still there, but it's not anymore loud.

So if you still want to help me with that, then i'd be pleased to.
