Its one of those things. You get your system all planned, and BAM! someone releases a new product.
I've had my eye on getting 3 Quantum Fireball AS 40Gb drives.
I've had a Quantum Fireball on my PII for nearly four years with no problems, so naturally I lean towards Quantum.
I figured there wasn't much between the AS and the 75GXP so I was going for the former. Now the 60GXP is out and here's the problem...
I want a quiet system. I bought 3 drive enclosures so with them and the CDRW & CD-ROM they take up the 5 drive slots at the front of my HX08. Mucho heat = chimney + exhausts etc.
With the 60GXP they apparently have 20Gb per platter, so this means 2 platters for a 40Gb drive. This means less heat and noise.
Is this right?
I'd also like feedback on the 60GXP from those who have one.
Is it any good?
