Hard drive clicking noise , also bios dont detect

Hi , I just bought a new hard drive 500gb everything is plugged , the first time I turned on my pc , it made a loud countinous noise , the second time I turned it on it was just loud with clicks . There is a 2 pin connector on it , that is free . Did I did something wrong or it's just a dead hard drive ?

Assuming you plugged both the 15 pin power connecter from the psu to the drive, and the 7 pin sata connector to the motherboard (both shaped like Ls) then you have a bad drive.
