Question Hard Drive doesn't show up on Disk Management

Recently I had a problem with my old SSD setup (and I do mean quite old), so I bought a new one for my computer as soon as I had the money for it

So when I got it, I did all the installation process, went all just fine, except that my Hard Drive doesn't show up anywhere on the new windows install, doesn't appear on file manager, device manager, disk management. I even tried booting up the computer on the old SSD and it works just fine, Hard Drive work normally and even sees the new m.2 drive as a usable storage device

I also went through the motherboard manual to see if using the m.2 slot disables any of the SATA ports (which I guess wouldn't make sense since both work when booting from the old ssd?), couldn't find anything about it, so I have absolutely no clue what it could be

If you have any idea let me know and thank you in advance :)

PC Specs:
  • Gigabyte Aorus Elite B550M
  • AMD Ryzen 5600G
  • 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz
  • Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super
  • 1x Adata Legend 850 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD
  • 1x Seagate Barracuta 2TB HDD (the thing that doesn't want to show up)
  • EVGA 600 BR power supply

Maybe only to try in another PC or via USB adapter.

What slot did you install M.2 drive in?
Did you try M.2 drive in the other M.2 slot?

Can you show screenshots from ?

Disk Management,
Device Manager - disk drives, storage controllers sections expanded,
Windows Storage Spaces (Control Panel/Storage Spaces)

I installed it on the top slot, didn't try on the slot under the graphics card

Basically it says here that there are no working storage spaces available

You don't have chipset drivers installed.
Download from motherboard manufacturer support site.
Make sure sata controller is set to AHCI mode (in BIOS).

WOW, I can't believe I forgot that lol

I had my previous setup in RAID, so when I got the new one I just didn't bother to change it

I guess that goes to show that even if you build pc's for a few years for yourself and friends there might be stuff that you just forget sometimes, especially if it's not something you work with

Just did that and works just fine now, thx so much
