i just formatted my drive. whenever i try to download something to that drive, the setup program installs there but the actual program installs onto my other drive (ssd)... i have the drive set to download location in my browsers setting?? PLz help

i was trying to install a driver from msi, there was no question or anything during the setup process, it just started installing to the c drive

The driver needs to be installed on the same drive as the OS.

ok say i download all the needed drivers to the c drive. but then i download a program that detects driver updates onto the D: drive, would the program detect updated drivers that are on another drive (C:)?? Thanks...

you could made the downloads on the other drive then install on c for detection but if your afraid of losing ssd space you could uninstall it after use when not needed i use http://www.touslesdrivers.com/ with the plug in ma config to find missing driver so it only install the plug in and detection is on the web then they link you to the maker for the driver all free .

Drivers are TINY! All the drivers for your system, combined, is maybe 1% of the drive space.

My main drive is a 120 SSD. OS, ALL applications, and obviously drives installed on it. Currently about 55GB used space.
Do not fret over it.
