Unfortunately, if you can't get the hard drive to be read by any PC in any method, your only chance of recovering data is to hire a data recovery firm, keeping in mind that can easily go over $1000. The only way to protect data is to have a proper backup plan, which is a basic part of PC ownership just like changing the oil in your car or the air filter in your HVAC system. When you don't backup important data, the question is when, not if, you're given a pretty tough lesson.
