I switched my laptop's optical drive out for a larger storage hard drive and put an ssd in the main sata port. But now an annoying thing keeps happening when I open my laptop it will say the hdd has been ejected and I have to put it back to sleep and wake it up again in order for the drive to be recognized. This doesn't happen every time but it happens a lot. Do i need to change my drivers or settings to stop this from happening?

Update your post to include full laptop hardware specs and OS.

Check the boot drive order in BIOS.

What make and model optical drive did you install?

Did you download, install, and configure the applicable drivers via the optical drive's manufacturer's website?

Try running the built-in Windows 10 troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Another option: Try "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) via the command prompt.
