hard drive makes alot of noise

so the problem is when im downloading something or im starting up a game i can hear something really noise i dont know what it is but yeah its pretty weird is this normal? it sounds like
as if it is rubbing against something

If it didn't make said noise before, then absolutely not!
I'd suggest you backup your data as soon as possible and and have the drive replaced.

Sounds like one of the heads is about to fail.

To me it sounds like a normal hard drive . . from the early 1990s or so.

But, I've never heard a hard drive in the last decade or so make that noise so noticeably. That you said it never did that before makes me agree whoeheartedly with jason - it's at risk, and best to back up your data and replace the drive ASAP.
