Hard drive making struggling sounds

Well, hello everybody. I've been experiencing something strange.
Of course everyone may know about this sound and what it means.
My second hard drive has been making this sounds sometimes, not always.
So, when it does that, I actually remove the SATA cable and/or the power cable and put them again. Sometimes works fine, sometimes I have to redo. When it doesn't make the sound, it works fine. But I'm really afraid, so I'm doing RIGHT NOW a backup. I'm afraid I don't have another hard disk to substitute it.
The most strange thing is that it still works sometimes and a simple replacement of cables makes it work... what's happening?

I found a video in which the sound is quite similar:

Thanks for the help

Yes, it definitely does sound like either the SATA cable could be the culprit or the SATA port. Especially if the HDD is passing all tests without a hitch. You could try replacing the SATA cable, to see if this fixes everything. If doesn't help it might be the SATA port if this is the only one giving you trouble.
Hey there, Rogell.

It really sounds like the drive might have a problem. It's a good thing that you're doing a backup. After that I'd recommend that you download the drive manufacturer's diagnostic tool (or a 3rd party diagnostic tool if the manufacturer doesn't offer one), so that you can test the HDD and see what's the situation with it.

Hope that helps. Please let me know what are the results of the tests.

That's a bit strange. Try running the SMART check, just in case to see if it finds anything. Passing the long test should mean that the drive reported no bad sectors, which is very good news. Has the drive always made those sounds? Perhaps it's something connected the the head parking. When an HDD parks the reading head, louder click sounds might be heard. If you want, you can try another HDD diagnostic tools just to double-check.

Weel, I kept it in during some days, It didn't give me any problems. I changed for another HDD I had (to put some files on it). When I got the first again, it gave me the problem. I changed the power connection to the one from the DVD drive. It worked. Then, I changed to the one I use and it gave me problems. Just after the PC was completelly on I connected it and it worked.
Is it possible to be the SATA power cable?
I used CrystalDisk Info to check for problems, it shows me it's OK..
