Hey guys! My friend just finished building his first PC, and he's having some issues.

He can load his computer completely without any problems, besides these two issues: Firstly, his hard drive is not detected. He loads his OS on his SSD and that works properly, but the hard drive isn't detected in his bios load list nor in his "This Pc" location.

Secondly, he says that his audio quality in general is very poor. His mic works fine, but what he hears is very distorted when using the audio port in the front, and less distorted (but still bad)

Anything that could be causing this?

Solution
on the hard drive make sure there the data and power connected to the drive and is spinning. make sure he did not snap the sata connectos. on some mb there two sata chipsets the intel and or amd ones and asmedia chipset. make sure he using the intel or amd ports. in the bios make sure the sata ports set to achi mode not raid. on his build check that the front audio header on the digitail from audi port on the mb and make sure he downloaded the newest realteck hd audio drivers for windows. in the driver make sure he has the front and rear audio ports set to be there own sound outputs. if not he get funky sound from the front ports if the mic on the rear port.
