hard drive not working on TV

Hi, I have a two 1tb hard drives, both with movies and tv shows on them. they both work fine one one of my TV's through my ps4 but when I plug one into my usb point on my small bed room TV it shows that its connected but nothing shows up on it. Anyone any ideas??

make model of TV, some cannot read more the thumb drive sizes, some are limited in type of video codex they can read as well

Many TVs specifically state in the manual that they do not support Hard Drive power requirements for the USB ports, only flash physical medium. Also, does your TV support the filesystem? Not indicated if you are using FAT or ExFAT. Your TV will need to support ExFat if that's how you formatted it. Have to agree with The Paladin. The answer is most likely in your TV manual, and if not, then post the name and model number as well as the hard drive name and model number as there may be an errata with the combination.

The hard drive is Toshiba and the TV has no name on it, but I've formatted all my hard drives to FAT32 and only that one doesn't work
