Hard drive recognition

I backed up all my files from a 2010 MacBook Pro onto a My Passport Ultra and have now made the switch to a 2015 HP after retiring my Mac. The My Passport is recognized by my new computer but does not allow me to sign into it, as it is password protected. It only gives me the option to eject it. Any idea how to fix this?

If you encrypted your files and dont have the key you're in a world of pain.

Oh another thing would be the fact it needs to be NTFS or FAT32 formatted if your running windows, mac has its own format.
