Hey, i got an asus g75vw, when i lift it from the bottom it just shuts off (this doesn't happen if i lift from the top), after restarting the hard drive detected light on the front of my laptop does not turn on (need to remove the battery and wait 5-10mins before it can start up again), the laptop does not run in the time period where the hard disk is not detected (don't hear any sound) and it results in staying at a black screen, no matter how long i press down the shut off button it doesn't turn off until i remove the battery, as the laptop has 2 hard drive spots i moved it from the right to the left one, this did not fix the issue.

So my question is: is the hard disk somehow messed up or it possibly a wire or something thats loose? do you might have any ideas what i can try to fix it? (no warrenty left)

Thanks

Hey there, Nadim.

It sounds like there might be something wrong with the mobo or the battery/power connections rather than a failing HDD, but just to be on the safe side, I'd suggest that you connect the drive to a different computer. Download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostics tool and test the hard drive with it, to see if any errors pop-up. You could try to boot to your BIOS at least with the HDD disconnected from the laptop, to see if the same thing happens.
If it turns out that it's not HDD related, I'd recommend that you send the laptop to a computer service shop and let the guys there diagnose and hopefully fix the problem.

Hope that helps.
