As a WD representative, I can suggest you Western Digital drives. This is why, it may be a good idea to wait for some more suggestions.
Apart from that, you can take a look at WD Blue:

It is a nice drive that comes with up to 6 TB of storage space.
Generally speaking, internals tend to be more reliable than externals, due to the following reasons:
- You don't move them around. Almost no chance of dropping those.
- You will not face problems related to the enclosure/USB port.
So, if you don't really need a portable drive, you can consider getting an internal drive.
Keep in mind that mechanical drives could just fail. You should always back up your most important data.
