Good day,
So my cable management is a bit crap, and after procrastinating I decided to finally make use of the holes to put cables through in my case, and tidy things up a bit.
I unplugged my two GPUs, Motherboard power and a few other small bits and pieces, re-routed them and plugged everything back in. I did not touch the drives.
Yet when I got everything together and plugged back in, after POSTing I got the message 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device'
The drive in question is solely used for the operating system, and is a Samsung 840Evo SSD. My Mobo is a Gigabyte Z87X-D3H.
Here's what I've tried already:
It will not show up in BIOS or the Boot Menu. It's like it doesn't exist, since moving a few cables..
-I considered that I had perhaps knocked the cables while moving others around, so I checked to make sure they were still securely in, and they were.
My storage drive and optical drive both still appear on BIOS and Boot Menu.
I've tried moving it to a different SATA port on the Mobo, nae such luck.
I have also tried a different cable, and still I'm getting nothing.
I'm somewhat reluctant to accept that the drive has died from reshuffling cables around, because it worked perfectly beforehand! Has this ever been known to happen?
Any assistance would be great thanks,
-Lewis
