I made a huge mistake when transferring files from one hard drive to the next. I am pretty sure I copied a Read Only file and now my hard drive which contains 200gb of info keeps asking me to format when I click on it or try to use it. Is there a way to restore this drive without losing any information?

I really need to stop using that "yes to all" button.

Copying a read only file should not do that to a drive.
What version of windows are you using? Sounds like a partition has been corrupted, you can buy software that will sort this out.

Go onto control panel, then click on Administrative Tools, from there select computer management and then click on the disk tab. If it tells you that your disk is unpartiontioned then you will have to get some disk recovery software (sorry I dont know any...try www.downloads.com) if it shows the disk as still being there then you have another problems.
