I did an overhaul of my PC and have been having issues ever since installing a new motherboard and graphics card. The PC boots and runs just fine but will randomly freeze and will require a
hard reset- the power and restart button do nothing. Screen does not change, just will freeze the display of whatever I was doing. This could happen at any point, 5 minutes after booting, an hour after booting, etc. and I could be doing anything- internet, gaming.

The only thing I can find in the event viewer is a 41 Kernal Power event, which is right around when I have to hard restart the PC. I wondered if you had any insight to what could be the issue based on my current build, and what troubleshooting measures I could take.

specs:

CPU: Intel Core i-7 6700 @ 3.40 GHz
MOBO: MSI b150m Bazooka
RAM: Kingston Hyperx Fury 8GB DDR4
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 960
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Sounds like you need a new PSU friend! Had an extremely similar problem with my 960 (960 is most likely not the issue just coincidence) but instead of having to hard reset it myself, it would just do it whenever it damn pleased itself. The event 41 Kernel Power is a tell-tale sign of not enough power intake to support the hardware. If you've had the same PSU for awhile, that's your best bet. If you have a friend with a decent PSU, try using theirs on your system and you'll know for sure. Just don't do what I did, and do a clean OS install, buy a new graphics card, etc etc. I run AMD cpu (bleh), gtx 1070 (same power usage as 960, technology right?) and an $85 PSU cleared my 41 Kernel Power problem right up. Good luck, hope this helps!

Thanks for your speedy reply Jason! I am using a VERY old power supply- OCZ 700GX- and was worried that might be the issue. I will try troubleshooting with this as I have not had luck with the Windows 10 freezing guides I've tried.
