After installing my new graphics card and getting all the necessary drivers my HDD is running at 100% when under very small amounts of stress, before hand it was fine. It is a 1tb seagate 7200rpm. It was mounted flat but now its mounted sideways as I had to move the bays to fit my graphics card. Is this the problem?

k, my case is shocking so it most likely isn't getting any ventilation at all. Can you get a 3.5 inch bay adapter for a hard drive, it might be better to mount it there

Hi there Billy_4,

You need to test it so you can be sure there is nothing wrong with the drive itself: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
After that, you need to reseat(use a different one) the power cable of the HDD.
In case the issue persists, you can get your GPU out and see if this will fix the issue. In case it does, then you should consider testing your PSU.

Solution

The GPU is a bottleneck to the CPU, since I got scammed out of my i5 4690k, I'm waiting till Christmas to buy another one. Is this the problem, the current CPU is a i3 4130. The power cables did not work, the psu is doing fine everything is getting enough power. Testing it with my brothers hard drive had the same results.
