Harddrive for asus a2500h

Hello,
Have cleared and reformated hd as i have not got recovery disks, and am trying to reload windows xp on to laptop from an xp cd,every thing goes ok till first reboot then the loading starts again if i press a key or tells me no OS on hd

Check your hard drive settings in setup F2) ie sata, ide, compatibility etc
