I agree with you Sailer. That's a much more level-headed and more well done review there.

I still don't see why an overclock would go with that as opposed to a Q6600 which has even more headroom and will perform way better for about the same price.

But regardless, both are good chips and way better than my current Opty 175.
 
I'd still love to see what will happen if someone does try and overclock one of these chips on a regular AM2 board. I'm quite certain that the IMC being set to fixed speed is causing the issues we are seeing, and an AM2 board my be able to bypass this. Considering how few K8's I have EVER seen that were fussy about the HTT speed, I have to assume something there is the problem. The fact that an unlocked multiplier is allowing higher speeds than upping the HTT speed does points this direction, also.
