[strike]So at Christmas I upgraded to an MSI R9 270x 4GB, and all was well, I was getting the performance I'd expected. Then two days ago, I upgraded to an Intel i5-4690k. Not wanting to have driver issues, I reinstalled Windows. I installed all of the necessary drivers with the new Mobo, having upgraded from AMD to Intel, and I reinstalled the drivers for my GPU and AMD's CCC. Yet for some reason, it isn't perfoming as well as it did before. I had an FX-6350, an inferior CPU, so I had an upgrade there. Two things caught my eye:
1) No Windows Aero Peek or other features, like changing border color (Window Glass)
2) My games run poorly. I should be running Skyrim (the only game I've tried so far) at a cool 60+fps. Yet I'll be lucky to get 60. The setting tell me it's displaying through my GPU and not integrated, but I should be getting better looking at TH's own benchmarks.[/strike]
What am I doing wrong?
Edit: My CPU, according to RealTemp, is almost hot enough, within two degrees Celsius, to boil water at idle. At load, which I simulated with 3DMark's Skydiver test, I think I max out RealTemp at 100 degrees Celsius. I made a new thread for this issue so this thread is moot.
Also: My 3DMark score shows an amazing score for graphics, over 21k, but a physics score never exceeding 2500.
