Hardware reserved ram

Hello! So i came across this problem that i can not solve my self.

I just installed new parts to my pc that are listed below

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 r2.0
Cpu: Amd Fx 8320
Ram: Kingston hyperX Fury 8gb (1x8) 1866mhz cl10

After fresh install of windows 8.1 pro, i only have 3,4gb of ram usable and 4,6 hardware reserved.

I have tried:
-reseating gpu to all pcie slots
-reseating ram to all slots

So might an bios update solve this problem? Now running bios version 2501.

Some more info. I just took 2 different sticks of ram (2x4 1600mhz) from my brothers pc and tried them.

-one stick in slot 1 and other in slot 3 still same problem.
-only one stick in slot 1 got 590mb of hardware reserved ( tested all of these running at 1333)
-only one stick in slot 3 got 590 mb of hardware reserved

Did you install 32-bit Windows? If so, it is limited to 4GB of addressable memory.

awwww shiiiit.
i was meant to check it is 64 but i forgot..........
Running 32-bitOperating system, x64 based processor.
I was allmost ready to send the mobo back to Germany.
YOU are my hero!! (inb4 same problem with 64bit 😀D)

After fresh install of 64bit windows rocking 8 gigs of memory all thanks to you!
