Has anyone overclocked the 8450 or 8650 yet?

Like the title says. The 8750 seems to overclock pretty well, but I can't find anywhere that has overclocked its siblings yet. Major price difference between the 8750 and the others so I was wondering how it overclocked performs against the others overclocked.

AMD I take it? Triple Cripple?

I'm sure there's little to no difference between the 3 in terms of OCing. Perhaps the 8750 is better quality, but it's a B2, is it not? Phenom isn't exactly a great OCer, so getting 500MHz Oc is amazing, especially for the B2 stepping.

If you were planning on getting a Triple Cripple and OC, it's not the greatest of all ideas. If you don't OC, then it will do just fine.

I'm pretty sure that the core is of B3 stepping hence the reason they are 8*50 and not 8*00. The triple cores are supposed to be pretty good overclockers from what I've heard seeing as I've seen several mentions of the 8750 breaking 3Ghz. I plan to OC it because its only going to be a holdover until I can afford something nicer.

Oh sorry, I was thinking of the older Tri-core model. How strange. :/

In any case, B3 is a better OCer than the B2, although the gains aren't that spectacular. I read that it is easier to OC a X3 than to OC a X4, but I'm sure 3GHz is around the limit for these cpus. Of course you could get lucky and get ones that OC better.

I take it you already have an AM2 board? An Intel E8400 can OC much further than the X3 and out perform it too in many cases. It also costs about $50 more. In any case, the X3 is a okay cpu for a good price.

Phenom X3 8750 is very good for overclocking. My friend has it.He got 3.1GHz stable. It's very good you will agree.
