Has anyone tried Displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0

If the issue is only with bandwidth, namely 8gbit for HDMI 1.4, then wouldn't displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 be ok with a standard adapter since HDMI cable has no limitations? Has anyone tried this with a 4k HDMI 2.0 TV?

Thanks

If you are looking for a TV for gaming, I think you will be disappointed.
I have been looking for a 4k monitor larger than the current 28" crop that will do 60fps with full color.
To date, the only ones I have found are the 40" Philips BDM4065UC which looks good, but is not available in the us.
The seiki 40" 4k PRO looks promising, but is not released yet.
Read reviews carefully. It seems that hdmi input to a tv will limit to 30hz, or possibly 60hz with chroma reduced from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2.

There is two in Argos right now. One being the 40" SEIKI (rebadged for the UK) you mention with HDMI 2.0 and various other tricks at £399 and an LG 42UB820V at £499. Both in store where I am. The LG42UB820V recommended by a fair few, providing you can achieve 60hz (it also has HDMI 2.0) and update the firmware, if it's not already updated.
