old school xeons are great but mobos prices are high af and there are alot of these cheap chinese x79/x58 mobos around but from most test and reviews the bios limits the overclocking on the motherboard. so has someone found a moded bios or some chinese models that can overclock and not burn in the process? just wondering

what are the chances that the "cheap chinese" boards are able to handle advanced overclocking? more than likely this is the reason it is limited to prevent the mobo from choking and melting from the increased power draw.

very unlikely anyone found it worth the trouble to create a BIOS to allow something the board can't do anyway

well i guess you have a point problem is that if i get a good mobo for a xeon and then overclock i wouldnt get near as much performance as i would get from something like a ryzen or shit like that that would cost me way less
