Hey everyone,
I was saving up for a new Intel based processor, either 3770k or a 4770k except
about 2 weeks ago i scratched off a little transistor/ resistor/capacitor (I don't know which one it is) off my 990fx motherboard. Turns out it was part of the lan chip thing, apart from breaking the LAN port it also made it really unstable. So i'm using an old Phenom II X 4 925, which is really slow, and crashy. I was wondering if it would be wise to wait the three weeks for Haswell, or just buy a 3770k now. I have been reading stuff on Haswell and they are saying that the intergrated graphics will be faster, I have no need for this as i have a 7970 Ghz Ed. Will there be any other performance increases for overall speed and gaming?

I have around $650.
And I don't think I'll be able to stand this CPU much longer.
Any thoughts would be great.

I do use a fair bit of after effects and cinema 4d. Again, will the 4770k out perform the 3770k in that?

hahah, I know... I'm almost insulted you had to say that 😛 Lmao. Anyway, is there any info on the actual specs on Haswells speed, overclocking ability and stuff?

Wow, the 5ghz sounds very nice. 😀 With that said, it looks like i'm going to be waiting

Of course, while these overclocks are impressive, it remains to be seen whether they are actually stable. It is very possible that once a load is applied, the CPU destabilizes and the system crashes.

I stated that it MAY be able to hit 5+Ghz. Until the general public can get their hands on one, we won't know how possible it is but it does look promising.

Intel Core i7-4770K is going to have a 5% higher Cinebench R11.5 rendering score compared to Intel Core i7-3770K, so you are basically going to experience the same performance with both CPUs! I have overclocked my Intel Core i7-3770K to 4.8 GHz and it's a monster!
