I bought a custom built incredibly expensive but top spec computer about 1 month ago, Its practically unused, I've started it maybe 2/3 times. It cost £5000 and I don't know how to shift it... I don't use it as often is I thought I would and it seems I've just bought something so valuable its unshiftable.

Wow. That's uh.. Quite a piece to have lying around.. Well I would recommend repackaging it and sending it *with receipts of course* back to the vendor, and ask for a refund. If this doesn't work you can sell it whole or component by component on ebay or Gumtree.

And I don't mean to chastise but, how did you buy something like that without knowing you'd use it? There are plenty of things you could do with it outside using it as a PC. Turn it into a media center for the living room, or a house server. It'd use a lot of power though..
if you want to sell it, put everything back in its box, hope you kept the receipts and see if the shop will accept them back, say something along the lines of its not compatible... if the store says no (and they are entitled to do so) ebay/craigslist(US) or Gumtree(UK) the components and hope you make more than you paid for them...

Yea I honestly barely use the thing I really need the cash back haha, I have spoke to the company and they said they are incredibly sorry but they don't buy back their products, no matter how old or new they are. The only reasons I have my doubts on Ebay is I'm from the UK and the most expensive computer I've seen on Ebay lately was only around £2000... I would loose out on over £3000 pounds which is a ridiculous amount of money, It seems I'm going to have a horrific time selling the thing for atleast £4000 never mind the actual price I bought it for which is over £1000 more then that :/

I'm also quite inexperienced with components and so taking apart the computer is unlikely for a cluts like me. I also don't want to be messing around for 2/3 months...

Companies are notoriously bad at giving money back for items that youve bought unless they are faulty... im not suggestion you break the parts but get creative with things like the ram and say it wasnt compatible with the system board or something... and when i say sell it, dont sell the whole things, you will find it very difficult to get someone to shell out 5k on a pc, sell the parts individually, i used to live in the uk and used to do it all the time when i was strapped for cash, sold my graphics card to put food on the table on more than 1 occasion.

To be honest mate I think your best bet would be to dismantle the thing and sell it part by part, you can find plenty of tutorials and folks here would be happy to help. It wouldn't me 2/3 months of messing either I'd say if you did it right you could shift it in 2/3 weeks for almost the price you bought it at.

Well, try everything you can if you want to sell it.
Try to sell it on Ebay and see if you`re in luck. Go to pawn shops with scans of the receipts, and see what they will offer you.
Go to local IT shops, and check if they can get it off your hands by selling it as a pre-built monster.

I`m still in shock after seeing your OP. Can you post some pictures with the internals of your case? I`m in the mood for some geek p0rn.
