I just picked up an Acer V5-552P-X617 and it comes with 1 memory slot with a max of 12gb, which 12gb does not come in a single module form (kind of weird thinking in my opinion on Acers part). I just installed a Samsung Evo SSD, and this computer is pretty snappy, but now I'm wondering if it is worth the money to bump this up to 8gb of ram from the 6 it has? Just wanted peoples thoughts hear some opinions on that

Woah. If you just have a single slot of RAM. You're fine with 6GB. Additional 2GB for a much higher price of DDR3 RAM is not worth it. Unless you really want to have a 8GB in you laptop.
If you want to maximize the slots to have 2x4GB then it's fine. But if you're having doubts - just settle with 6GB since it will not have significant increase in performance if you upgraded it to 8GB. Your laptop will mostly eat up to a 5GB of memory on average.

Thanks for the response, the problem is the computer only has one slot for memory. Im familiar with utilizing DDR by having two of the identical sticks of ram. However, with this computer having only 1 slot for ram, I don't know if there is an optimal configuration other than bumping up the gigs of ram installed and if that would really be worth the investment?

Only has one slot.
