You can see my water cooled rig at http://www.hydrabolt.com/ - this one is a pure AMD Spider platform with a MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard, FOUR Radeon HD 3870 cap-modded, volt-modded (to 1.7V) and running at 1000/1275 (stock is 777/1126). In addition the NB, SB, VRM, and memory are also all water cooled. 95% Koolance parts on the cooling. System runs 38C idle and 44C load. And yes I am looking forward to the 45nm Socket AM2+ desktop CPUs so I can actually push these cards to their limit. I don't think I have really done that yet with the Phenom at 2950MHz.

So I work in IT, and we have this computer built mainly for HD Video editing. Its running two INTEL QX9775 Core 2 Extreme's, two BFG GTX 280's, 8 15k rpm SAS drives in raid, 10gbs ram. It's fast... Read spead of 800+Mb/s write spead of 300+Mb/s I forget what benchmark we ran for the CPU but it had the highest rating in the country. I can check later if anyone actually cares.

So heres some pictures of the crazy fast computer i was talking about, it had just 1 card in it at the time. And it was 3D Mark that we used to test the CPU.

Hey All. I’m new here but I love to share my mods.

I am currently working on a new mod from an antec 300 case.

I am not completely sure what way I am going but I have some ideas. I have been looking at different fan controllers because the case holds 4 - 120mm fans and 1 – 140 fan. The problem with all of this is they all look the same. So I decided to make my own. Here is the progress of that adventure

2969039960_d6e8a6b9b3.jpg

Here is my start case. Plain old Antec 300 case… Kind of boring huh?

Lets play

2969039962_650d368b81_o.jpg

Standard 5.25 slot cover in the case. Good place to start to keep the flow of the case going.

2969039964_76652c1edb.jpg

Ok, I have 4 holes drilled here on the outsides for my toggles and 4 for my LEDs. Not to mention the 4 holes to mount the prototype board I have to use to solder all my resisters, LEDs and wires to. *note the tan PC board threw 4 of the holes*

I could take you threw each step, but I’m going to jump to the main parts. If requested, I will go into more detail.

2969084370_270bd2edd3.jpg

Ok, here’s my board with all the Wires, LEDs and resistors soldered to it.

2969039972_5c1cec0555.jpg

Here is one of my Toggle switches wired up and I added the green loom over the wires to help with air flow and it just looks better. =)

2968238811_bfc8545b5f.jpg

Next I had to install the toggle switches and LED holders. I painted my 5.25 cover and mounted the things needed.

2969039984_4944ef07aa.jpg

I installed the blue LEDs finished wiring and installed to PC. Notice the LEDs work when switch’s are up. They will be off at night when I turn all my fans and lights off at night so I can sleep without feeling I’m at a disco or something.

Next I want to cut a picture into the side of my case. I found one I liked a lot, so I blew it up drew it on my case and got ready to cut.

2969088154_86027570f7.jpg

This is what I have decided to go with. Its going to be a little work but I feel its well worth it.

I have started to Cut the pic out of my case and I ran into a small problem… My darn dermal burnt up. I started hutting and the next thing I knew my hand was feeling like it was on fire… I took my dermal apart to try to repair it, no luck.

So now I have a Fan controller and a unfinished cut into the side of my case… I have to go shopping… Hope the wife will let me *grin*

I am about to have another son in Jan so all my cash is going to him. I will get the new dermal ASAP and get back to work. Hope to post again soon!

I have almost always built my own systems but always regular beige or black boxes and always on a tight budget.

This time I decided to make it a project and have a cool looking pc that my 2 daughters could help with and one THEY would think was "cool".

As I use my PC in an dark room I decided to use some UV products and also had my 1st foray into watercooling.

Hopefully you all like it :-

Why is my mod EXTREME? Well, this mod has an EXTREME amount of power per cubic inch, quite possibly the most in the WORLD!

This is my 1U mod (Case Dimension is: 11D"x17W"x1.75H"). My goal was to fit a FULL POWER (yet near silent and FULLY upgradeable) gaming desktop, in a case that is 0.18 cubic feet. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

The specs are:

-250W PSU
-ATI HD3870 GPU
-200GB 7200RPM 2.5" SATA HD
-2GB DDR2 667 Ram
- E6600 Dual Core CPU
-External USB DVD RW Optical Drive (connects via my LCD internal USB HUB)
-8x40mm NEAR SILENT cooling fans (under 30db)
-CPU Cooler is a 80mm near silent blower type fan (under 30db even under full load).

All in 1U Supermicro Case!

Also, notice the 4 port DVI (with audio and USB) KVM under-desk mounted? That is so I can switch to my work laptop, which is docked under the desk and on top of my filing cabinet.

Here are the pics:
