Have I bought the wrong windows

Okay Im in deep trouble right now as I dont know what Ive bought. I bought a windows CD key and for this do I need a cd drive on my computer to activate it. Im building a new gaming pc that doesnt have a cd drive. Can I still activate it if it is a cd key. I dont Have a cd for windows 10

The only legitimate sources of Windows keys are authorized retailers. While the keys may work for a time until Microsoft revokes them, I cannot personally assist you in activating Windows with a fraudulent key. A legitimate Windows 10 Pro key will cost in the neighborhood of $120 and up, not $14.

For this situation your best course of action is to review these two Microsoft links, the first about activation gives you some background info about activation methods which clearly states where you can get a valid license. THe second is regarding installation , how to get and create the media (files) require to install.

if your key is a pirate key then key will most likely be rejected on final activation, since the microsoft windows version will not have the hacked software to fake activation. the first phase of install only checks that the key is in the proper format, the last phase check the key against a known list of pirate keys or checks to see if the key is already in use by someone else. pirate keys fail very fast if you use a real copy of microsoft windows. if you use the copy provided by a pirate, it takes longer to fail 30 to 90 days or whenever you do certain windows updates.
