My CPU ( I5 4690k ) was on 100C for a couple hours, becuase I didnt put the fan on right. The funny thing is, that I didnt have bluescreens. I also tested GTA V by doing the first mission a couple times...
Later I realised what was the problem.
But the question is, is my CPU damaged ?
My idle C is 40C, but I see, that everyone's I5 4690k cpus idle temperature is 35C or smth. But I dont have any errors and freezes. Im just worried about the temperature.
My guess is, that I just have a cheap CPU fan... ( Bought it for like 22$).

Ignore him, he doesn't know what he is talking about

If you reseat your cooler and reapply the thermal paste and everything runs fine you will have nothing to worry about. I had an issue where a waterblock wasn't in complete contact with my CPU and it ran ~100C for about 10 minutes until I shut it down. Reseated the cooler and everything was fine.
A normal intel should run around 40 - 50c any lower than that is a damaged cpu I had a core 2 duo which i left off the cooler for a short period to see how well it runs without cooler - I killed the cpu because it only ran 30-35c and was running fine no BSOD or anything but it wasn't having the best output it should and my computers sounds would freexe and the computer ran slower

Oh by the way you should use a stock cooler unless your overclocking because otherwise they are just a waste of money for a aftermarket cpu cooler which if you get for cheap then its not very good

Exactly what I was thinking. He just recently posted "answers" on 3 other threads I had already answered, and he was so non-descript and giving horrible advice.

Alright, thanks :)
