I have an XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT 20GB GDDR6 being shipped (an upgrade from my Zotac 1080) and I just found information about the 7000 series having major problems running VR.

I have a Meta Quest 3 and wondering if I am going to have problems running games like Half-Life Alyx. Grok says issues lingered in 2023 but no mention of 2024. Does anyone here have any insight?

The VR issues on AMD 7900 GPUs have seen improvements with driver updates, but some users still report occasional compatibility problems depending on the VR headset and game. Ensuring you have the latest AMD drivers is crucial for the best experience.

If you're facing performance issues, it’s worth checking if your system has any bottlenecks that could impact VR performance. Use a Bottleneck Calculator to analyze your hardware setup and ensure optimal compatibility.
Bottleneck calculators are NOT recommended by knowledgeable/experienced users. All systems have bottlenecks. These are nearly as worthless as driver update apps. Don't waste your time with these.

By the way, the AI generated part of the quoted response is, more or less, correct. Make sure all drivers and VR apps are fully up to date and chances are you'll be fine.
