have tried formatting 3 different SD cards, windows says they are 1.3tb and format fails?

I cannot get my PC to recognise or format my SD cards. I know they are working as expected, but to make sure I backed up the cards from both my phones and tried to format them, no luck! When formatting begins it says the card is a ridiculous 1.3TB and begins the format process. It obviously fails every time. When I put the cards back in the phone they work perfectly. My problem is I have thrown away numerous cards because of this. I need help before some poor person below my window receives my PC. HELP!

Maybe your card reader/writer doesn't support SDXC media. What size are these cards? It is always best to let the device that will be writing to the card format it.
