Im probably on the wrong thread but i dont know where else to post it...

Anyway, i was unable to log in to my computer after i installed a piece of software, (100% sure i typed correctly) and i tried to reboot several times. No result. However, when i pulled out my network cable, and i was able to log in again...

Note that the computer didnt turn off when i shut it down before this happened!!

Does anyone have any idea what type of malware this could be?
(doing a full hdd wipe, just curious!)

No clue. The idea with Malware is that you aren't supposed to know what it is, but I haven't heard of anything like this. It's really different for people so it's hard to say.

One thing I'll recommend is that you back up the machine either with a disk imager (i.e. Acronis True Image) or a snapshot tool (RollBack Rx)
