Have you ever used a stethoscope to listen to hard drives, fans and other noisy issues?

Ha! that's deep dude. I've always suspected lots of car problems can be diagnose by listening to noises it makes. Maybe you will write the book on HD Sonic Diagnostic.

Seriously. It gives a little localization and isolation to the noise.
Hold it up to your ear, and aim it at different components.
