So I have a GTX 1070 and a Corsair CX 550M PSU. The GPU seems to have 2 PCIE cables to connect but my PSU only came with one of them and only has one slot for a PCIE cable. I was wondering whether the two aren't compatible with each other or whether there is some way to go over this issue (PCIE cable adapter or something). I spent over 400€ on the gpu and don't plan on buying another one. If there's no way to go around the problem, can someone recommend a PSU to buy that would be compatible with it

You don't need to change your CX550M PSU as it has enough PCIE connectors for your GTX 1070.

Your PSU comes with a SINGLE PCIE cable with TWO 6+2pin connectors along the same cable. The cable should look something like this:
PCI_E_6pin__98800.1459418478.386.513.jpg

So, if your GTX 1070 has 2x 8-pin sockets, just plug both 6+2pin connectors on the same cable of your CX550M. If your GTX 1070 has 1x 8-pin socket and 1x 6-pin socket, just plug one 6+2pin connector on the 8-pin socket and plug the other 6-pin connector (leaving the 2pin unattached) on the 6-pin socket.

Thank you all for the replies. It never occurred to me to use the two 6 + 2 connectors instead of the whole 8 pin and connectors. Will set it up tomorrow and see if that works!
