Having problem with new motherboard

Hi. All
I've built new pc. It's i7 6700 k 4.0 GH, MOTHERBOARD IS gigabyte z170- d3h, ddr4 ram.
My problem my full complete setup working fine. But when I tried breadboard setup before complete build up, I noticed that without RAM there is no beep sound and motherboard light turn on for few seconds then goes off without any beeps. But when I instal the RAM, there is a regular beep sound and all works fine. I am not sure if MoBO is faulty or its just normal to have no beep sound without RAM, as was earlier motherboards when you would get a continuous beep if RAM is faulty or not installed.

Every mobo has their own signal to indicate any hardware activities. Your bios maybe have some unconfigured warning buzz, you can always configure it however.

So I presume that no sound without RAM is fine. Though ram installed it gives normal sound and works as perfect as it should be. I'm just curious to know as I bought MoBO a couple of days back only and can be replaced if it's a problem. But I'm not sure if it's a problem or not. There's no detail available on website or hardcopy manual

No problem with that, as long as you can run OS fine without any problem, i can say it's absolutely fine.

No...my problem is opposite. No sound without RAM. Only lights turn on for few seconds. When Ram installed, normal single beep and works fine. Should I use this board or ask for replacement as its couple of days old only

Are you installing the RAM into the correct slots - in order - as stated by the motherboards manual?

On old motherboards a single short beep from the bios meant that all the test the bios performed for cpu present, memory, keyboard connected to the system, graphics card placed in the Pci-e or Pci card slot of the board passed all tests and is working normally.

With new motherboards, depending on the brand and the bios type used.
No beep is produced.
Due to the fact the memory is missing from the bios testing procedure.

Once you place memory in the memory slots of the board, providing there is no fault with the memory you will hear the single short beep to confirm the bios finished all of it`s system test of components connected to the motherboard.

Any other chain of bios beep codes as you know relates to an error with a set component connected to the motherboard.

You cannot test something if it`s not connected can you.
So the bios sequence of tests simply halts, until all the required components are seen or detected for testing.

There is nothing wrong with the board.

Yes Ram installed correctly. I just wanna ask if no beep when no ram is normal or not
