Having problems playing CD games

When I put in a CD game, I get the file error:
"cannot find MMSYSTEM.DLL. Then "VISESTUB caused a
general protection fault in module SETUP32.EXE at
0001:AB16". Any suggestions? My system OS is Windows XP.
