the laptop:
HP G6 2249WM
it came preinstalled with either win 8 or 8.1, I don't know which as I wasn't the original owner.

I took apart the laptop a few days ago because it was overheating, found the fan blocked with lumps of dust so I cleaned it all out and replaced the thermal paste. When I put it back together and turned it on, it wouldn't boot, I kept getting error messages on a blue screen, they were different each time I restarted. I used windows 8 media creation tool to make a installation usb but when I boot from that I still get errors on the blue screen and I tried with windows 10 media creation tool to install on usb but I still get error message with that too.

so I took out the hdd and plugged it into my other laptop (which I'm using now) with a usb connector and used paragon partition manager to delete all the hdd partitions.
windows still didn't install.
iv tried putting it in legacy mode but I still get error messages too.
ran a test on the hdd and memory in the uefi/bios and they are working fine.

any ideas of how I can get it working?

(the dvd drive on the laptop isn't working)
