Having to press FN to use game commands

In games such as Minecraft, Fortnite, (I’ve heard that it happens in Subnautica?) and other games-. I’ve noticed that I have to press the FN key to use the in game command.

Example-Fortnite: to build you use f1,f2, and f3. When I press those it changes the brightness and gives help with Microsoft edge. When I hold FN and press those keys, it builds.

Correct. Many games you'll have to press Fn to make things work. I'm a rabid TF2 player and it annoys me greatly when people say they can't press F4 to ready up, or they can't vote, etc. Yes you can! You just need to learn how to correctly use your equipment.

There's probably a setting in your BIOS/UEFI to change the default behaviour of the F# keys.

There should be options to toggle or reverse the way fn key is used.

I know how to use it properly, it is just extremely annoying and gets in the way of fast paced games. Ive tried to get used to it but I have to stretch my hand a lot. I just want a permanent way to fix it.
