Question having trouble connecting pcie extender to psu

i’m running an evga 80 plus 500w psu and i just bought a radeon 6600x today. my pcie cable is not long enough to reach the gpu. i splurged on a pcie cable extender some time ago but can not figure out how to connect it to my pc. i’ll provide pictures.

Just one observation, your GOU should go into the first PCIe slot on the motherboard, not the one below...which where I see the PCIe expansion brackets taken off on the case. Another observation is that PSU's come with cables that are long enough to the point you will need to manage them. How long is the PCIe cable from the PSU's end to the end of the connector?

the psu is about 4 years old. i’m gonna estimate that the cable from the psu (assuming you stretch it out) is about 3 feet. it does this weird thing where the split end for the 8 pin connector is about 6 inches.

also the gpu should be in the top slot

you shouldnt need a adapter for the gpu. it should fit take a picture of full case and show us why you cant get it to the gpu top slot,

the cable for the pci e has been shoved into the motherboard header it shouldnt be in there

pci e cables only go into graphic cards they do not go into motherboards period.

yes take it out of the motherboard do not use that (pin header that was in the motherboard good chance that its damaged be careful in removing it from the board so you dont rip anything off) use the one you were trying to reach to the gpu only since you only need that one

the one you had in your hand in the video is a 6+2 pin the 6 and 2 click together to make the 8 pin

also make sure to remove the top slot covers at the back of the case ( ive made that mistake once) before mounting gpu into the slot

the cables should be routed from the back of the motherboard tray.

psu cables particularly the pci cable should come threw the rubber holes to right of the board

they do come out of the other hole at the bottom. the issue is that neither of the pcie cables are long enough to reach the pcie pwr 1 which is at the bottom of the motherboard

that port on the bottom I'm pretty sure that's for additional power you wont need that the motherboard supports 75 watts from the slot and the pci cable just from the power supply supports all the extra power you need.

i think the port at the bottom is only needed if you are running all of those slots.
