This is my first build... everything has worked great for a couple weeks. Last night playing Modern Warfare 2 the screen went black. Had to hit the restart button and it came back up. This morning I was updating a small utility program and it did the same thing... screen went black. I'm using ATI Overdrive and it was Auto-tuned to 875mhz... I backed it down to 800mhz after the problem.

I'm thinking it might be the card but not sure what to check. Any help would be great... Thanks.

RJ

P.S. I'm using a 32" Vizio LCD Tv as the monitor.

Unless the PSU is defective it isn't the problem as that is a good brand with plenty of power.

Is everything at stock? Set it back and see if the problem comes back (auto tune is often a little aggressive).

Did you set the ram speed/timings to the rated values for the ram (not just left them on default)?

I'd suggest trying Prime95 and memtest86+ 4.0 to check up on the CPU and Ram 9and hopefully rule them out).

I haven't changed the jumper setting on the MB to allow voltage changes to the CPU. I did set the memory to 7-7-7-21 and left the other timings at auto... (not sure if that's correct). The HD 5770 is set at 875MHz/1275MHz/300MHz The GPU Temp 32C and the fan is 32% at idle.
I'll try the stress test's... see what happens. Thanks.
